marielw824
Anyone with a Journey have electrical problems? About 5 weeks ago, after a long drive to Wyoming (about 2 hours each way ... highway), my battery died. Now, I'm a 'girl' but it has always been my training that a long highway drive charges the battery/alternator. The dealership checked out the car for 4 days and charged the battery and returned it to me. This past Weds ... got SAME exact message ... Key not detected and a clicking noise. Then a couple of hours later it was DEAD. AAA couldn't jump start it. Car would start with cables on it but once cables were disconnected ... car stopped immediately. Towed it to dealership 1pm Weds .... and they have not called with any info. as of today, Fri. 11/17th. Would love anyone's input. Oh ... 2015 DJ has 5,700 miles on it. YES .... 5,700 .... NOT any higher. I bought it new Feb. 2015.

OhareFred
Sounds like the alternator. Hope you towed it to a Dodge dealer, should be under warranty and is about a $500 repair. marielw824
Thank you OhareFred. That's what I thought, that's what the AAA tow driver mentioned to Dodge dealership Service Advisor. Also mentioned/requested the battery & alternator be 'tested' OFF of the charging power pack. Could be getting a false positive from the power pack. That was tow driver's suggestion. I was hoping someone had experience similar to this and could say definitively it is THIS. But thanks everyone. Yeah ... not the first time I've been told POS Dodge. But I've always had good luck with Dodge/Mopar. And WHY 2 1/2 years later .... just boom ... this happens. marielw824
Hi Julie, How do I PM you? Thanks.
Steven Harshbarger
It could be as simple as a bad battery. It wouldn't be the first time I've seen a newer battery fail. With that said, a low battery or dead battery causes all kinds of havoc with these newer vehicle electronics.
