km-04
I want to spruce up the look of the DJ and thinking of replacing the stock lights with either one of these (or something similar). https://www.amazon.com/dp/B017OK4OHS/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I1OKTONVHOZ8UN&colid=3C52F5NQO14QT&psc=0 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LZJY8J6/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I1WW13Y8SZNWFW&colid=3C52F5NQO14QT&psc=0 Would it be difficult to do the manual labor part for theses? I do enjoy working on my vehicle, but I also know my limits. If it's as simple as swapping out housings(unplug one, plug in the other) then I should be good. If it involves splicing wires and stuff, I know this will only frustrate me and make the job actually seem like work and not a fun project. I know you guys say it's important when you change the housing to get the proper bulbs so I want to do it right the first time. Let me know what you guys/gals think. jkeaton
They may look nice but the light output is horrid.

Is that based on the bulb output, or just crappy output regardless of how bright/white the bulb? Thanks for the heads up on this.
jkeaton
Combination of crappy bulbs and crappy design.

km-04
Well, I'm switching the approach. Can anybody recommend a bulb for the current housing? I feel like the light is very soft with a warm yellow hue. Looking for something with a little more brightness and a whiter cast/hue. tjboston5676
retrofit a morimoto md2s projector into the stock housings or if you want to just keep stock housings change your bulbs to 9011 and 9012 in place of the 9005 and 9006. if you search on google theres plenty of info on either option do not put led or hid kits in the stock halgoen housings please 2late4u and jkeaton 1

km-04
Ok, update. I figured I'd try just changing the bulb to see if that would satisfy my urge to "enlighten my Journey".(see what I did there?) I switched out the OEM bulb with a Sylivania Xtravision, link below. https://www.sylvania-automotive.com/products/headlights-and-fog-lights/xtravision/index.jsp I liked the output, it is much better than the original, but I think it could be better. Thinking of switching them to the Silverstar Ultras, link below. https://www.sylvania-automotive.com/products/headlights-and-fog-lights/silverstar-ultra/index.jsp Haven't ruled out the HIR's. tjboston5676
the hirs will give you the best usable output. they will be a little whiter but still pretty yellow, but you will at least be able to see down the road much better. they do require a slight shaving of the tabs to fit though heres a good write up about halogen bulbshttps://www.hidplanet.com/forums/forum/general-discussion/halogens/1409801-ryan-s-guide-to-halogen-bulbs Edited March 14, 2018 by tjboston5676 2016Redline and jkeaton 1
