Philster
Can anyone confirm from their owners manual if the fog lamps listed for your 2009 Journey are 9145 bulbs 55w. For 2010 they have switched to PSX24 bulbs which are very weak throw a yellowish light and are only 24w.
04redmach1
I have a 2010 and my fogs are white. I would have to check on part number though.
Sam
Journey 2009, fog lights are 9145//H10... should be the same for 2010...

Philster
Journey 2009, fog lights are 9145//H10... should be the same for 2010... No, for 2010 they have gone to a new bulb designed by Phillips (PSX24W). Even though many online catalogues are showing the bulb as the 9145 H-10 this is incorrect for our newer models. So you have verified the bulb as per your manual then?

oke
It says 42W on the bulb.

I believe the 09's do indeed have the 9145 fog lamps. I saw a 09 Journey and a 09 Caliber with their fog lamps on yesterday and they are markedly brighter than mine. A quick check on web found that Dodge has moved to the 'Energy Saving' PSX24W's this year. My 2010 has the much dimmer PSX24W bulbs.
Tylerbright
I noticed this on my 2010 the other day when I tried to switch them to Silvania Silverstar's to match my headlights. Now I have white headlights and yellow fogs.
Philster
I agree about the yellow fogs. I put the Sylvania Ultra's in my 4 head lamps. I'm going to look into the harness part numbers to make sure the 2010 harness can handle the slight increase in load. My bet is the harness is the same as 09. Then I will price 2 of the fog lamp housings from an 09 as we need those to install 9145 Silverstars in. There are no Ultra's in the 9145 but the Silverstar will look just as good and cast a much better light.

RAV
Be careful if you upgrade your fog lights to something that draws higher wattage. From this source: http://www.atzelektronik-worldwide.com/ind...7h6qqrdpjr4iec0 7.1 Front Fog Lamps As fog lamp, the low power of PSX24W, Figure 6, allows a breakthrough in terms of weight and compactness compared to halogen solutions. Since less power means less heat dissipation, glass lenses, aluminium housings and metal reflectors are not needed anymore and can be replaced by very inexpensive plastics such as polycarbonate. This leads to cost but also weight and space savings, together with less power consumption, thus less CO2 emissions, together with an improved perceived quality. We need to watch that we do not melt stuff.
