Disaray 725
Hello there. I just purchased a used 2016 Dodge journey. I am pissed off that I did NOT research what it would take to upgrade the stock 4.3 stereo. $400 METRA KIT IS INSANE!! Is there anywhere else I can install the stereo with a cheaper kit, not messing with the stock 4.3 touchscreen. I cannot afford that kit nor do I want to change the place of any buttons!. Anyone help PLEASE! And thank you!!!!!!
jkeaton
What is it exactly you want to upgrade?
OhareFred
What is a Metra kit? With a 2016 you don’t have a lot of options because of the other things run through the screen. Members have done it, but it’s alot more then $400, so, unfortunately, I’d say your screwed.
Disaray 725
I want to put a 7" aftermarket stereo in.
bramfrank
This is the Metra kit: https://www.carid.com/2014-dodge-journey-stereo-installation/metra-single-double-din-stereo-dash-kit-904990647.html It provides a revised mechanical control panel and provides a cable harness for an aftermarket stereo - apparently it is intended for units with the 4.3" display.. OhareFred
Not sure if this will help you but try Factoryradioparts.com they had a lot of replacement screens and stuff.....
Disaray 725
Yes I am aware of the kit, thanks though. The problem is money lol. Wanted to know if I could install it anywhere else where I wouldn't need that kit
