JoJourney
Hi, I have a 2010 Dodge Journey 4 cylinder with 132,000 kms. Engine light came on then flashed and car died as I was reversing. Started back up and engine light stayed on. Tried to drive it today and car would not go above 20km/hour (15 m.p.h.). Had it towed to my mechanic. They have it up on the hoist and the car is running well. Check engine light is still on but they haven't road tested the vehicle. They will road test in the morning. I have read many "google" answers and the solutions run from Catalytic Converter to Software Update to possibly the Transmission or Throttle. Has anyone out there had this issue happen with a 2010 4 Cylinder Journey and if so, were you able to get it fixed and if so, what was the root cause of the problem. All input is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I will be speaking with the mechanic this morning. They mentioned it would go into "safe" mode to protect engine/transmission
