16journeydave
When we go up hill the the front end feels like it’s all over the place. It makes a grinding noise that turns into a clunking noise but only when the vehicle is going uphill. It also has the same noise every once in awhile while turning left, but the front end feels tight turning left. We’ve replaced the tires and bearings. Still the dealership has idea what’s going on. Anyone experience it?
jkeaton
It. Could. Be. Anything. Take a service tech on a ride and demonstrate the issue. 2late4u, Armando G and OhareFred 1 1
Armando G
My bet is a worn bushing, but could also be the transmission. But jkeaton could be right.
rossco
Check the cv joints. Do you get a clicking noise on full lock when moving? rossco
dharry1960
16journeydave - Did you ever resolve the problem ? I have the same problem. So far the coupler for the transaxle was replaced... Didn't fix the issue. Anyone have any ideas.....

2late4u
my daughters patriot 4 wheel drive was making a clunking noise when turning both ways but not all the time and when turning in a full turn no clicking sound i was thinking cv joints but wasn't sure what as they looked good when i checked them visually, anyways her reg mech said both front c v joints were bad and replaced them and the noise went away.
