2017 Journey
I just bought a 2017 Dodge Journey with 9000 miles on it yep not even 10,000. It overheats and dealership says they cannot find a issue. Replaced thermostat and still overheating. Any ideas?

jkeaton
Find another dealer or shop. Your post does not contain sufficient imformation for anyone here to help you. Moved to the engine and trabsmission section since this was posted in the AWD section for some reason. 2017 Journey
2017 Dodge Journey Crossroad AWD 3.6 liter V6. 9365 miles on vehicle. On days temps outside are in low 60s it has no issues. Temps get above 70 and at 60 plus m.p.h. it starts to overheat. Now if i let off the acceleration and drop to 50 m.p.h temp comes back down. Once vehicle has heated up and you shut off to let cool down it gurgles and blows coolant out resevoir over flow hose. Thernostat has been replaced and is still having the same issue. 2017 Journey
Starting to think this is why i am the 3rd owner of a vehicle with less then 10,000 miles on it. I still love the Journeys but starting to think i got a lemon outnof the batch
OhareFred
Could be one of the following : water pump (internal), fan not turning on, head gasket, bad radiator ..... how hot does it get? My 09 runs right in the middle of the gauge.... Edited September 23, 2018 by OhareFred
jkeaton
Still under warranty? Take it in, tell them to keep it until they can figure it out and get a loaner. larryl and OhareFred 1
2017 Journey
Dropped it off yesterday with a nice polite letter on front seat. Got a call today. Cyclinder 3 and 4 is pushing hot air into the resevoir. They are moving to repair head gasket. Didnt see anything on this in reviews before purchasing. But now if anyone else is having overheating issues with the 3.6 this may be your issue as well. Mine fell under the warranty sice it is a year old with 9000 miles on it. I am just glad this may end my nightmare.. 2late4u
