Shawn855
This is more of an OCD curiosity thing, but I have a question that I'm hoping someone can explain: Why is it that when we press the brake pedal, the rear caliper piston comes straight out. But when we have to compress it, we need to turn it? If the piston comes straight out, shouldn't we be able to push it back straight in, without the need to turn it? Thanks 2late4u
Armando G
Here is the basic answer... The Journey features a "screw-in" type rear caliper piston which is part of the self adjusting emergency / parking brake mechanism. How it actually all works, I have no idea... just don't use a c-clamp to force them back in (my usual method btw). 2late4u and jkeaton 1
