Arron munoz
2010 dodge journey started on fire or almost started on fire on a really cold night drive got home and after getting out of the vehicle noticed smoke and glowing from under the hood so ran inside grabbed water and tryed pouring in into the hood but didnt see the glowing before pouring the water. No signs of a fire or fire damage but there is no coolant flow so my question is could a power steering issue cause a water pump issue
mechanical-idiot
Likely two unrelated coincidental problems. Summer Solstice
Arron munoz
Well it is under recall for power steering hose blowing out but do u really think its was by coincidence that the water pump just happen to go out at thst time as well or was that sarcasm cuz I couldn't tell
Summer Solstice
It was not sarcasm as the two units are completely independent of each other. The only thing that they would share is the belt, assuming that it is a singular serpentine belt. Check the belt on the drive side for heat scoring. Likely if a pulley seized the belt would have snapped but maybe not, yet.
Summer Solstice
I see that this thread has been started in the wrong section. It will likely be shut down but you have already started a new thread in the right section. Good luck.
