leafsby1
I have a 2012 Journey SXT built in 2011 so it still has the smaller brake system than mid 2012 and up. I am almost 100% sure 16” from earlier journeys 2009 should but wanted to post here to clear my mind. I have 19” on it now just looking for a smaller cheaper set of tires for this coming winter. 2late4u
16 should be no problem, but why not ask your dodge dealership for the correct info? Edited May 29, 2019 by 2late4u leafsby1
leafsby1
Haha, that’s a long story. I’ll never return there ever unless it’s something I cannot buy or find out elsewhere. I only live in a small town with 1 dodge dealership. 2late4u
jkeaton
Cheap set for sale in the classified section. I “think” they are still available. https://www.dodgejourneyforum.com/topic/10298-winter-wheels-and-tires-ready-to-mount/ leafsby1
leafsby1
Thanks but I am in Canada, the conversion rates and shipping would kill me lol. This guy with the 16” is local and wants $200 CAD. jkeaton
bramfrank
If you have the small brakes the 16" rims will work, assuming proper bolt pattern and offset. jkeaton, leafsby1 and mechanical-idiot
mechanical-idiot
I did the same thing, but I went with a 17 inch rim and a higher walled tire. Don't forget to check the equivalent tire size to match the rim size (should match the original 19" rim and tire height) or otherwise, your odometer and speedometer will be off. If you check the online tire stores, they will show equivalent tire sizes to the original. I hope I am making sense. mechanical-idiot leafsby1, jkeaton and 2late4u

leafsby1
We shall see. I guess they came off a 2014 DJ they were gross looking. Now that they came off the 2014 I should be able to upgrade my breaks later on correct?
2late4u
if they came off a 2014 then yes shouldn't be a problem, might just want to measure some other rims just to make sure leafsby1, mechanical-idiot and jkeaton
leafsby1
His add stated they were 16” I decided to buy them, get them home and they are 17”. He said they came off a 2014 so I guess measuring is the only way to see if that’s correct.
bramfrank
If they came off a post-middle 2012 Journey, they could not be 16", since the larger calipers make it impossible to fit that size wheel on the vehicle. 17" tires aren't outrageously expensive. And yes. if you decide to do the 'big brake upgrade' (or you get a newer Journey) at some point these wheels will still work for you.
