masterofyard
Car wouldn't start. Replaced the battery. Now the radio will go out for a few then turn back on and headlights flicker randomly. I checked the voltage while the car is running and it is reading about 15 volts and spikes to maybe 15.5 volts randomly. Put all accessories on and same voltage reading with the meter needle spiking back and fourth. Is it possible alt, tipm or voltage regulator? There is no unusual noise coming from the alt. Any help greatly appreciated.
OhareFred
Voltage regulator is built in the alternator. Check all connections at the alternator. Get a professional test on the alternator done. Could be a bad diode, could be something else. Hard to diagnose electrical stuff without being there....let us know Edited December 5, 2019 by OhareFred 2late4u
