comicozzy
I have a 2009 SXT 2.7L V6 Engine. Two piston rings have gone so I'm getting low compression and blow-by. My mechanic says its not worth rebuilding, best look at a replacement engine. Since 2.7L engines are not as common they are more expensive, so I'm wondering if anyone has successfully swapped it with a 3.6L V6. They are cheaper and a lot more common. Is it simply a plug and play scenario or is there a lot more components that need to be changed besides the engine itself?? ( ie PCU module etc). jkeaton
Transmission is different, so, no, from that perspective, it is not a plug and play. 3.6L didn't come out until 2012, so there are most likely other engine management issues that would need to be addresses as well (wiring harnesses, sensors, etc) 2late4u, Summer Solstice, Armando G and 1 other
