DarinW
HELP! We have a 2013 with a 2.4L DUAL VVT Engine. Can someone please just point out where the Throttle Body Unit is under the hood of a 2013 2.4L, Dual VVT engine bay? I cannot find ANY of the books we used to buy from Chilton's or Haynes on this car. Closest I got was a service manual for it for some ungodly sum of money I do not have. Our engine bay looks NOTHING like any of the 2013 dodge journey engines on youtube. I need to replace the throttle body unit, and this is our only car. I have the throttle body unit and the gasket ready to go... I appreciate any help in finding it. An exploding diagram would be awesome! OhareFred
Follow the tube from the air cleaner box. Leads to the throttle body. Compare what you have to what you find. Let us know... DarinW
jkeaton
I was going to say if you can't find the throttle body, perhaps you should not be working on the engine...lollololol......kidding.... What OhareFred said is about as simple as it gets..Find the air cleaner (hope you know where that is), follow the intake tube to the other end. Thats the throttle body. Or, just ask you tube.... 2late4u
welcome to the group , the above video even tho hard to understand can help you out quite a a bit ,also check out motor city mechanic on you tube as well he has a lot of great info on journeys,,,,,you tube will be your best info o repairs as there are hardly no repair manuals anymore jkeaton
DarinW
@jkeaton, I watched that guy 10 times. Although he is hard to understand, his engine bay is NOT a Dual VVT engine, as stated in my post. None of the ones on youtube are of my engine bay, as stated in the post. ...I do fine with cars, but as I am now disabled, I pick and choose my own battles, and one of them is to ask questions BEFORE I go taking stuff apart. ...Like I did here. Everything you mentioned in your answer was basically already noted in my post. larryl and jkeaton 1

2late4u
well then i would ask your local part store if they have some info auto zone use to print out repair instructions yrs ago, but if finding the throttle body for you is that hard then you mighty need some help I am not making fun of you but all the 2.4 are basically the same and yes they dont make info repair manuals like they use to everything has went internet and yes from what we have heard it is expensive, sorry you didnt like my advise...... jkeaton
OhareFred
If you still can’t find the throttle body you should not be attempting this repair. Don’t get shitty with people trying to help you, we aren’t there ya know. Personally I don’t think your trying to replace the throttle body, because you can’t miss it. I think you are trying to replace something else, like the intake plenum, and think it’s the throttle body. Take a picture of your engine and maybe we can point it out to you, or take it to someone who knows what they are doing. larryl
Dude Or Dudette....are you sure you dont have a V6?? OhareFred
Even if he has a V6, the tube from the air cleaner leads to the throttle body. Either he is clueless about what is under his hood OR he has a one of a kind, 4cylinder Journey. Maybe he has a prototype? Na, I go with clueless and has an attitude.....but that’s me jkeaton, larryl and 2late4u

Phone a friend, ask a neighbor, drive by an auto parts store and ask. A throttle body is a throttle body, it doesn't matter what engine is in it. It sits right on top of the intake manifold, at the other end of the air cleaner intake tube. I don't know how much clearer that can be..... 2.4journey2013
If for whatever reason you didn't complete this. Look at the intake manifold and then straight down in the middle towards the radiator on the 2.4. You will see the throttle body. Replace as needed.
