Go Reds 433
I have a 2016 Journey and all of a sudden the a/c will come on by itself. I only have 13,353 miles on it...yeah I don't drive much. Any one else having the same issue and if so what was the solution. I contacted Dodge and they said they were unaware of this problem. Thank you.
5rebel9
What type system is in your Journey? Is it the auto temp or dual zone MANUAL system?

5rebel9
Seems there are a number of threads started on this issue in this heading page. From what I can gather, it seems to be in the touchscreen or module software. I don't have any troubles (yet) like this as ours is the manual system. I'd suggest spending some time going thru established threads and see if any have "fix" info.....Good Luck!

jkeaton
The AC will come on automatically based on humidity levels in the cabin. Even if turned off in the manual mode, the AC system will remain active to prevent fogging. This is normal and explained in your owners manual. Can this be disabled because I dont like my system constantly running in my 2018 DJ, I can turn it off repeatedly and it just keeps turning itself back on

You can install a switch to cut power to the compressor when you don’t need it.
Dean H
On my 2016 DJ. On the touch screen go to rear climate controls. Push rear controls off. Push rear controls locked out. or Pull the fuse for the rear HVAC controls. Interior fuse panel. larryl

2late4u
my first 2011 journey had the dual system and yes not having the rear set right can make it turn on and off, my 2014 has just the manual system and have never had any problems..
