My dodge journey stalls out in Drive and dies

I have a 2009 Dodge journey SXT 3.5 l v6. 

For quite some time now both me my husband and my father have been racking our brains on what is going on with my car.

It goes into reverse, neutral, Park, first through six but when I put it and drive it stalls out and dies. it used to only stall out and die when I came to a stop sign or stop light. recently it can't make it out of my driveway without stalling and dying. 

We replaced the EGR valve, the entire gas foot pedal (which I know has a sensor in it). But it still does the same thing. when we replaced the foot pedal it helped for a little while but then proceeded to get worse.

my husband seems to think that it might be a fuel issue but we have no clue what it might be. 

if you've had this same issue and we're able to fix it please help me out. it's my family vehicle and I desperately need it to be on the road again.
