Frustratedbuyer
Who is the smart Dodge Journey engineer that makes you remove a wheel to replace a car battery? What's the reasoning behind that other than turning away customers from buying Dodge?...What's the best way to do it? Thanks!
Armando G
Plenty of posts concerning this and with only having to change your battery every 4-5 years, it's not that big of a deal. Unless you buy the cheapest battery you can get your hands on. My Chevy has it in the trunk (replaced once in 7 years) , my MG had it in the backseat space (2 of them to be specific) , my Ford has it so far back under the hood (replaced one in 4 years) , it hurts when you're pulling it out. I actually think it's an ingenious use of space.
Frustratedbuyer
We migh start inventing square wheels too. I can replace my battery in 10 mins in my Toyota Camry. Replacing battery in Dodge Journey will take me about 1-2 hours if that. Excellent solution l! jkeaton and OhareFred

I changed mine (twice now) on my 09 Journey in 30-40 mins. If it took you 2 hours you stopped for a beer. All my Jeep forum does is bitch how fast the batteries in Cherokees are ruined by heat under the hood. You get about 3 years out of a battery. And really, who looks at where the battery is when they are car shopping! First world problems..... larryl, Locosiete, jkeaton and 2 others 2 1

Excellent solution l! Will that take into account figuring out where to move it to and moving it there? You're getting rid of it anyways... it's been real, good luck on your square wheel thing. Not sure if your only reason to joining the forum was to complain, but that's a bigger waste of time than replacing your battery. Moving on to real posts... Frustratedbuyer
No, just to criticize the poor design for battery placement.
