Raypollard345@gmail.com
I have a 2012 dodge journey, that hard starts. Mostly in cold weather it seems like. Sometimes will not start at all. New battery, cam and crank sensors. Started after that for 2 days, then no start again. Finally today it started again, but am afraid issue will come back. Does not appear to be fuel issue will not start with starting fluid, when the problem is happening. When it runs it runs good no codes. When this is happening the engine light flashes whiles its cranking, but no codes log. Does anyone have any ideas? Would be much appreciated. John/Horace
TIPM module possibly. Especially if crank position sensor was replaced and nothing changed. http://www.dodgeproblems.com/tipm/
agm2112
Have you tried to monitor fuel pressure during cold start ? May be an old fuel pump.
John/Horace
Starter fluid not starting it, so probably spark related. Fuel pump issues more common in warm weather, and on warm restarts. Temperature increases internal clearance in pump which drops fuel pressure out of acceptable range. Armando G
I know the battery was just replaced, but just to check some of the basics, check the grounding connection. You may want to make sure you have a good connection at the ground (not the battery end) with no corrosion or crud. My old truck went through this and after cleaning it really well, it started with no issues. 2late4u
