danager1989
So I changed the thermostat in my journey because it was stuck open (not good in winter). It would get warm and the heater would blow warm, but the engine never got to full operating temp and heater wasn’t reaching its potential either. So now I replaced the thermostat, added new coolant, and the engine/coolant get to temp but the heater blows colder than before. Any ideas? OhareFred
Trapped air? Did you bleed the system properly? It’s a PIA process.... 2late4u and Summer Solstice
danager1989
That makes sense. Went to bleed it and subsequently broke the bleeder valve so part of it is out and part is in the thermostat. This day is going awesomely. probak118
Ok educate me, air bleeder valve where is that located ? When I changed mine a year ago I simply removed the pressure cap on the reservoir bottle cranked the heat and let it run until it circulated. watched bubbles escaping thru the reservoir bottle. After googling, I answered my own questions thanks something I did not do, must have got lucky. OhareFred
Sorry, mine goes to the dealer for everything except wipers and brakes. Those 2 things I do. I also have Lifetime Maxcare. Smartest move I ever made... 2late4u

danager1989
Could an engine really rise or fall 10+ degrees in about 60 seconds? That's what happens as I drive. Am I barking up the wrong tree and maybe need to replace the coolant temp sensor?
