Kweb
I have a 2014 Journey SE that needed a boost a few weeks ago. Ever since my touch screen only works sometimes and usually only with my remote starter. I’ve had a new battery put in and a mechanic has looked at it and tried disconnecting the new battery to see if it would reset. It still isn’t working all the time. Any thoughts or suggestions? OhareFred
How long did he leave the battery disconnected? For the radio to reset it needs about 45 mins....
Kweb
I’m not exactly sure how long, but I think I will try doing it again. Thanks for your advice!

Kweb
Thank you for your help, I’ll try it and see before I take it to the dealership. I’m sure they’ll suggest something a lot more expensive than this fix!!
Kweb
So I now have disconnected the battery and left it for an hour, still not working . Does anyone have any other ideas before I head to the Dealership?
OhareFred
Loco has a good idea. It’s not hard to remove the bezel or radio, might be worth unplugging everything, let it sit for half and hour, then plug it all in. Maybe a connector came loose.... Kweb
I’ve looked at a YouTube video to do this and I’m not quite comfortable doing it myself. I’ll check with the mechanic I took it to before and see it he will do it. Thank you all for your help! Greatly appreciate it?

Kweb
Me too! Ever since I disconnected the battery on the weekend the screen has never come back on. Now more of a mystery!!
OhareFred
Have you checked the fuses? Did you press the on/off button? Sometimes we forget the simple things.... Locosiete
Kweb
Yes fuses were checked and have tried the on/off tuning and CD eject button. It is driving me crazy!! Came back on this morning, so who knows at this point!
Kweb
When this all started it was really cold here, hence the needing a boost and a new battery. It has been warmer lately, so maybe ? It worked today using a different remote starter fob and it worked on my way home using the starter in the vehicle. However it didn’t come on right away, took about 10 mins of driving . I have the 4.3’ screen. I will try hitting it, can’t guarantee at this point that it will be a “ light” smack as I’m fed up with it ?. Kweb
So quick update on my mystery, took it to the dealership yesterday. It’s the radio, they are 99% sure it had nothing to do with the boost to my battery and it’s just parts worn out( their words). So in 3 days -3 weeks I will have my screen back for approximately $600?, could’ve been worse. Thanks to everyone for your suggestions and help! 2late4u
Kweb
Thanks for the offer but it’s already on order. I’ll just bite the bullet and enjoy it once it’s installed ?
