RoadWarrior
Just discovered this site. Very interesting posts! alot of people with similar problems and comments! I work as a courier so I'm in this vehicle all day! Its an 09 AWD Model I got last summer. So far I like the vehicle I drive through alot of the Adirondack Mountains it has done quite well so far. It had brakes at 32K. A power window problem and a AC control panel replaced under waranty. It has 40K on it and it will soon need tires. The Kuhmo 19" tires have done fairly well but I hope the next set have better traction. I hope I can get something with a more aggresive tread. The best thing you can buy for this vehicle is a 2$ blindspot mirror because there is alot of blocked views when changing lanes on the highway! Transmission acts unusall at times under hard acceleration. I would ask a technician about getting the fluid changed more often and if there is a synthetic you can use. for it. I hope the transmission holds up! Gas mileage is not even close to the EPA sticker on the window! I been getting about 19-21 on average. Over all my time with this vehicle has been good so far. I will report back when I have more time.
Sam
I'm buying new tires this week. At first, I was looking for Yokohama Parada Spec-X, but they are not available in Canada in 19". The only good alternative I had are the new Toyo Versado CUV. They are on the market since something like... 1 week! So it will be a guess, but I'm confident they will be better than the Kumho (they are really bad in rain).

RoadWarrior
Thanks for the replies.. Was told last year that OEM Kuhmo tires where all I could get which may have been the case when the Journey was first introduced but I guess theres other choices now. I know this vehicle has a good power train waranty but when I pass another vehilce it sometimes seems slow to repond and other times it gets up and goes. Really makes me wonder if its a computer glitch or if its slipping.hmmm? One time it wouldn't up shift I turned off the vehilce then restarted it. Then it was fine! And its been fine ever since. Strange!
Sam
I you look in the OEM size for the tire, you'll find nothing. You have to go 235/55/19 to have decent choices. For the transmission, maybe it just needs a reflash.
