waynerb66
So here is my issue. My battery light came on. I called to make an appointment. I was driving home from work late at night, when all sorts of electrical stuff starts happening. Every warning chime and dashboard warning light starts coming on one at a time and staying on. I start to lose power, middle console lights go off. And finally when I manage to limp to a gas station, it won't start up again. The tow truck driver felt it was the alternator, as the battery did not seem to charging up once it was boosted. Here is the kicker though. It is at the dealership as we speak, and they don't know what is wrong with it. It won't start for them, but they can't track down the problem. They said they will run some more tests. Has anyone else ever had this happen to them?
waynerb66
They just called me back. Guess what? It's the alternator. Just like I told them. Why do dealers treat you like you know nothing.
WOLF
because the cars of today are more complicated than ever before... the Grey Journey i had before it was replaced had serious electrical issues, which never repeated while in the dealers workshop, even began to doubt myself, but on the last and final issue, while cutting into the door, the went through a wiring loom which should flag up on the OBD2 /on board computer, and it did not, it appeared the data logging system was naff as well so any dealer will always want to hook up the OBD2 compy..... first and formost!!!
