Kev100
I'm having a hard time getting a clear answer. It's going to be a huge pain to change these spark plugs, so I want to get the most durable, longest-lasting. I'm having a hard time getting an absolute for the correct / compatible types. Is NGK (9723) - SILZKR7B11 Correct for a 2014 3.6 L / 6 cyl / SXT / FWD ??
2late4u
had mine done at the dealership , and they used OEM plugs, last over 100 K ,why not go with them?
John/Horace
I used those laser iridium plugs on my 2014 a few years ago, working great. Canadian dealer was 250 percent more for Chumpions. Kinda like buying tires or a battery from the dealer. Could use double platinum as well, some of them good for 100k miles. NGK 9723 {#SILZKR7B11} Laser Iridium Info Gap 0.044" CAD$10.87 https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/dodge,2014,journey,3.6l+v6,3300354,ignition,spark+plug,7212
probak118
Had mine replaced in the 2012 3.6 L FWD last November with Champion Iridium 9407 plugs, not cheap but only doing it once. John/Horace
Some iridium are not both center electrode and ground electrode iridium. Same with platinum, which is why double platinum description is used sometimes. Laser cut iridium I believe are full iridium, ground electrode has a small piece welded to it at the arc contact point. Gives a full 100k mile rating, which people will exceed. There are iridium coated as well, with a shorter life span. Although it’s nice to not have to change plugs, they can also seize up if in there too long. Aluminum heads and stainless plug threads can have issues. On in line four engines like the 2.4 I often just use double plat plugs. So easy to get at, the extra cost of iridium or Ruthenium not worth spending. I’ve seen double plat plugs last well over a 100k miles and still not have a really worn electrode gap. A/C Delco is now owned by NGK so I consider them close in quality. Although Anton Champion the motorcycle racer invented the spark plug...I’ve never had great luck with their plugs. Years ago they were sub quality, probably fine now, I just have a long memory.? DodgeaWrench
I replaced mine a 105K miles. Besides being time to change them per the maintenance schedule, as someone previously mentioned, I wanted to get to them before waiting tooooo long and then the plugs might be stuck or break. As I got over 100K on OEM's, I replaced with the same. That was long-lasting enough for me. Most likely the replacements will last the remainder of my time with this car. I doubt I'll ever have to do plugs again. One and done. The new OEM plugs were just under $11 each. Here is a picture of my old and new. Mine's a 2014 3.6 FWD. To replace them, while a bit time consuming isnt thaaaaaaat bad. Rewatch the videos, take your time, and be gentle with electrical connectors. Replacing the plugs was the first 'large' wrenching on this car I performed (not really 'large'), and I'm glad I did. With the confidence I gained doing it, I've since been through the same process to replace spark plug tube gaskets, and again for an oil cooler. John/Horace
Actually the Journey 3.6 plugs are one of the easier V6 plugs I’ve ever changed. Hyundai 3.8. 3.5, 3.3; Kia 2.7 , F150 4.6 3V are all much worse for more fasteners and electrical plugs to remove. Someone said they paid $11 for oem. I guess our free health care is’t so free after all. ? https://www.moparpartscanada.ca/oem-parts/mopar-spark-plug-sp149125ae Edited June 30, 2021 by John/Horace

And think how safe you are being kept by your Gov't. You can't even take a ride across the border to the States and get parts much more reasonably. John/Horace
Yeah a lot of stuff is marked up higher. Partly because of extra shipping distance, currency exchange, lower volume of sales. Govmint cost mark up is the trickier one. Lots of people here pissed off with extended border closing. I’ve had both shots for a while now. Vaccine roll out was not that well handled here IMO. Just like everything else, there is a hidden political element to it now. I’m living right at border, business hit has been huge. Not sure how some of them will recover; even with the hand outs. Better days ahead. On topic, I don’t mind paying a bit more for better quality dealer stuff. Especially critical components.

If so I hope our country's military jets didn't invade your "airspace" to create any International incident with you neighbors on Father's Day weekend air show we had. Or I hope that you may have been able to see some of the "action"! Buffalo area is where we do our main shopping/entertainment outings from living out in the country well south of the city! John/Horace
Very close to there actually, few miles north of there. I did notice extra planes, wasn’t sure what is was. Toronto has a very big air show at the end of the summer, international air show usually. Lots of very unusual older military planes etc. I’ve only been is this area for the last year, but I have in the past crossed over into Buffalo for the outlet malls etc. A lot of beautiful old century homes and architecture in some areas. Looking forward to life and border returning to normal. Cross border shopping was always very big. On topic ...even for OEM a dealer stuff. 5rebel9
