JS04
Hello, I drive a 2017 Dodge Journey SE (FWD) 2.4 Current Mileage: 63,600 I've been having High RPMs with slow Acceleration (3-4 then back down to 2-3). No Check Engine Light or Codes. I did replace my Spark Plugs at 60,000 Miles per Schedule. No Transmission Fluid Seen on Ground. Any Thoughts to a Cause or Someone with Similar Issues? 5rebel9
MY thought is to clean off your engine oil dip stick(after a full warm up) and use it to check the transmission oil level. Take the filler tube cap off and insert the dipstick down it. There is a mechanical stop plate inside, so you can't make it goe too deep. There should be 1 to 1 1/4 inches of trans oil on the stick(hot). There are a number of you tube videos of how to do this. JS04
JS04
Thank You 5rebel9. I will try that today. I will also post what I find (or don't find) with the Transmission Fluid Check.
JS04
So My Transmission Fluid Level is Good. The Fluid is Pink. Also, I have a Transmission Dipstick. Edited July 2, 2021 by JS04
5rebel9
So FCA finally figured out the need to have one. Not sure of just what driving conditions this "glitch" happens under, normally I'd suggest spark plugs but you say you just replaced them. Only other I can offer is to have a good scanner with live data capability and monitor readings
2late4u
transmission is different on the 2.4 compared to the 3.6 trans, with the 3.6 no dipstick, so this engine comes with the older 4 spd trans....are you saying your rpm are 2-3 at idle? also did this just start happening or has it gradually over a period of time? did it start after changing your plugs? did you use OEM plugs? wonder if the throttle body valve is dirty. good luck and let us know what happens 5rebel9

I got suckered by the ref. to no trans fluid seen on the ground. But a whole lot more background info(like my last posting) by the OP would be of much help along with what you ask. JS04
So here's an update... The Issue (Higher than normal RPMs (2.5-3, Sometimes 4) when Accelerating at any speed) The Issue began to happen before I replaced my sparkplugs. I thought they may be the cause, also at 60,000mi they needed to be replaced anyway per Schedule. I replaced them with Bosch Iridium Spark Plugs 9651. Issue still occurring. I had my mechanic clean my Throttle Body. Still had the issue. This past Saturday I had my Mechanic disconnect my Battery to reset PCM (why is the battery in the wheel well? ) Now the issue seems improved somewhat, still high but smoother transitions. Again no CEL, No Codes. I have a Blue Driver Code Reader.
5rebel9
Of the many Dodge/Chry/Ply vehicles I've owned, Bosch plugs never seemed to work well in them. And I was a big BOSCH believer from my many years with VW's/ I suggest running the type plugs called for for your motor. Yes I understand it was doing this before the change. All I can further offer to do is a scanner with live data monitoring and record data while driving it. Then download it to look for glitches to find the cause. good luck.
