FedUp7
I have a 2010 Dodge Journey SXT that I bought last June. About 6 months ago, I went out to the garage to leave and it was dead. I jump started it and it took right off. Ran fine for the next 2 or 3 days and then the same thing. I had it towed to the shop and they ;put a new alternator on it. I was told by the mechanic when I went to pick it up that it still wasn't starting right and I probably needed a new battery. I purchased the new battery and had it put in. It went fine for about two weeks and then nothing. All cables are securely tightened. When it does this no starting issue, when I put the key fob in and turn it, I can hear a clicking sound coming from somewhere around the firewall. I am so out of ideas with thing. I love it but I am losing my patience with it. Any ideas or suggestions?

Armando G
What he said ? In addition, go back to that mechanic and tell him to stop guessing at what it might be and to really figure out the problem (there are ways to test the system). You can get guesses from a forum... for free. 2late4u and Locosiete

John/Horace
Most common Journey parasitic load (drain while sitting) is the hands free Bluetooth if you have it. There is a mini fuse in passenger kick plate panel. Called HFM I believe, but the 2009-10 are different. Need a multi meter set it to milli amps and start testing draw. After car is off 3 mins check what draw is on main battery, should be only digital clock and radio presets. So 50-75 ish milli amps.
Locosiete
Mine had an issue where the light in glove box wasn't turning off. Glued a quarter to the door to add a hair more to push in plunger and that helped turn off the light. Used my phone camera to record a video, placed in glove box and let it record a video for a couple minutes. Checked video and sure enough light stayed on even though dash and everything else was off 2late4u
2late4u
So many different kind of electrical draws can be possible that trying to find out on a blog will almost be Impossible, there are so many components in today's vehicles that unless you are really good with different meters and know where to look or test,,, South main auto on you tube is a great place for info and lately he has been posting about finding electrical problems with different cars,,,makes my head hurt just thinking about how he can do everything that he does..ALL this said you probably need to find a good electrical mechanic shop to chase the problem down. Good luck and please report back on what you find for others that will be looking for their odd ball problem with their Journey Locosiete
