2late4u
just bought my daughter a set of Michelin tires ( defenders rated at 80 k) from discount tires online instead of going to their store to order them..... well they had a great deal of 110 off instantly and if i used my discount tire credit card i will get and extra 60 on a rebate master card... now the local store will match that price but by ordering on line, the warranty for the tires are about $5 cheaper than the store charges so that is a $20 savings and also buying on line the tax is cheaper by about $20 ...so all that said i ordered them last sat and they were supposed to come in Monday but never got a email on the tracking so i called them and they said there had been a mix up somewhere, and said they were going out Monday nite and should be at my house on Tuesday and to make up for the problem they said as soon as i get them mounted and balanced to send them the invoice on the cost and they would reimburse me up to $ 22. per tire,,, so for a total of $498.40 and free install she is getting a great deal on a set of tires....Discount tire is a great store to trade with if you have one near you give them a try as they rebuild the tpm for free and treat you right every time an d if you dont have a store in your state buy them from discount tire direct online they ship them to you and then they have authorized installers near where ever you live,,,one thing is the offer the best deals at every holiday weekend so try to catch them at that time and also their credit card is easy to apply for and easy to get...MAN i sound like i work for them BUT NO i dont they are just a great honest company for a great deal jkeaton, Armando G, NavalLacrosse and 1 other 1 1
NavalLacrosse
I second you opinion. I've had nothing but good experience with discount. When I was desperate, in high school, they sold me a used Michelin tire for 45 dollars. (with "1/2 tread life" left) that tire lasted the last 40k miles of the cars life. When a tire wears out early, they prorate the value of the new tire based on remaining warranty on the old one. They repair a wider area of the tire for nail punctures (belle said "It's 2inches off center, it's a sidewall issue", discount just fixed it because it was obviously in the center.) Discount also accepts my tom-foolery of not signing for the tire warranty, but then when i have a tire blowout, they let me buy the warranty even though the car is clearly riding on the spare. I also got a memorial day sale with them and got 4 general tire alti-max for 80 each. jkeaton

2late4u
well I rec 2 of my tires ordered, only problem is one is a 215 65 16 and the other is a 235 50 18 (the wrong one) and didnt rec the other 2 tires,so i called Scott at discount tire online and he did some checking and came back and was apologizing a lot and said he had the other 3 tires sent out today, and said he didnt know how it happened and then kept apologizing some more, and i said well i wasnt to happy about all this happening, but not a big deal as my daughter didnt need the tries right away and as we already had the warranty and they are giving us free install and balancing i really couldn't complain to much, he said just leave the wrong tire outside tomorrow and fed x will pick it up. and the only reason we buy the warranty is since my daughter is using her vehicle to delver the mail she had to have 3 of the last tries replaced due to nails and screws ruining them on this last set, her last set of tires were continental tires and they lasted her a whole yr, which in postal use is a long time///LOL jkeaton
2late4u
well after getting everything settled and also getting the free install on the tires and rec my credit back on my card for the free install $498 minus a 60 rebate for using their credit card drops them to $438 divided by 4= $ 109.5 total each tire on Michelin defender 85 k with full warranty of the life of the tires....cant beat that price at any other store.....lol I did have a mix up at the tire discount store when i told them i had bought tires off the online store and wanted them to mount and balance them i waited a bit and they said got you all done,I went out and looked at them and thought they dont look right but started to get in the jeep and all 4 tires are still in the back WTF,,, so i go back inside and tell them hey just want to be honest but you all used your tires and not the ones i bought off the internet, the manger said oh hell so sorry about that and pulled the jeep back in and got the correct tires installed and was apologizing a whole lot, took another 20 minutes...kind of surprised they didnt offer something for my delay but everything had been paid for or given and i didnt want to ask them to do anything else as they are usually a great efficient store in Madison AL
Armando G
@2late4u - so after all those mix ups, your time on the phone, and the reinstall (multiply your time wasted by x, divide by y, add z ?), you are good to go? I've only used Costco for my tires. They will price match and all come with a full warranty with install. I stop by to get them rotated for free and they have replaced a couple of tires that got punctured... no questions asked. I tried Discount Tires once (there was a huge online discount), had them delivered to the local shop, made an appointment, only to show up and being told they never got them. Canceled and went back to Costco.
2late4u
yes everything is fine ,yes there was a mix up, they corrected the problem gave us free install, every time my daughter has had a flat or ruined tire they have went out of there way to get her back on the road even working after closing time to do it once, they are such a great company to do business with, i dont have a cosco membership so i cant comment on their service, but discount tire has went over and beyond for our tire needs,,, and as far as time wasted was only when the tires had too be remounted ....as i said she got her Michelin defender th tires with an 85 k mile warranty mounted and balanced out the door for a total of 109. per tire i would bet cosco would not have matched that price Armando G
