nlj
2010 Dodge Journey issue. Turn the key on and just a click. Started in January 2020. Have taken it to three mechanics. Battery replacement at all three mechanics. One of them changed out the starter and another changed the alternator (along with changing out the battery). Every single time I got it back, it would run for a few days and then start doing the same thing. Took it to dodge last month. They replaced the battery and said there was a short in the liftgate. Got it back, ran for three days, and again started doing the same thing. Took it back to the mechanic's shop and they have it now. Said it would not start until they jumped the starter. Someone help..they want to replace the starter again..but it was just changed.
2late4u
has been discussed here quite a bit,,, look thur the forum ,,,Electrical, Battery & Charging there is No easy answer for this ,some have found odd reasons and solutions, best to take it to a shop that specialists on electrical problems also keep a list of when and what has been done so you wont get ripped off changing a part (battery )3 times...good luck
OhareFred
Shouldn’t all the repeat repairs be covered by some kind of warranty? My shop gives a year on parts….most of the time if a covered part fails they don’t charge labor….
Kristine
This is happening to me too. 2010 Journey. I could get it to start if I cranked on the steering wheel but that hasn’t been working lately so I took it to my mechanic. They couldn’t find anything wrong with it and said it wasn’t acting up for them at all (they had it for 3 days!) Got it back on Friday night and on Saturday it did it to me again. I’ve had a ton of work done to this car in the last two years. I don’t feel safe driving it as I could get stranded anywhere as soon as I turn it off. Sorry I have no solutions for you.
