Tpesonen
Hi everyone, So I am new to the forum and wanted to find some help. I have a 2012 Dodge Journey 3.6 L that is having some issues with heat. I have the fan on full blast and it pushes air just fine, but very little heat. i checked the on board dash in the menu for coolant temp and it only gets to 88 degrees - 190 F. is that normal or is the thermostat in need of replacing? 5rebel9
At the age of your '12 model, if it is the original, then YES give replacing the thermostat a try. It takes more effort to drain and refill/bleed air, than changing the stat / neck assembly. Not a hard job at all.
2late4u
as mentioned above replace the thermostat as it is real easy on the 3.6 and ues the rng temp should read 185 at least after being warmed up,,,,dont forget to bleed the air as well after replacement. if you are still not getting enough heat from the heater could be the heater core getting plugged up as well check out youtube for the quick and easy way to replace the heater core
