KV1
I have a 2017 CrossRoads. Recently the interior lights stay on dimmly all the time. They light up when I press the brake pedal. The rearview camera is also just a black screen. Anyone have the same problem or ideas on how to fix it?
John/Horace
What happened with the previous Bluetooth issue, was it a sick doa Bluetooth module? Low voltage from a dead battery sometimes creates weird problems. Any recent battery recharging events. Try unhooking main battery feed using one of the remote contacts under hood for 5 mins, not in fender well. Might reset something. Bad grounds can can create very weird issues like this. It’s newish at 2017 but corrosion is still possible, lots of grounds mounted near top of strut towers under hood. On Hyundai cars I had, the grounds in this location that had to be cleaned, paint removed to bare metal, thin film of dielectric grease and reassembled. Not fun with the present weather. KV1
The Bluetooth issue was solved by disconnecting the battery and waiting an hour. Has worked fine ever since. I will try that again for the interior light problem. I had some transmission work done a couple weeks ago.
deejizzle
Take a look at the rear wiring that goes to the door, there are probably some bad wires that need repairing, I believe that should fix your issue. Kindly let us know if this helps. 2late4u and Summer Solstice
KV1
Disconnected the battery for a good while and tried to access the wires you guy mentioned. I couldn't find any wires that looked off. Reconnect the battery and now everything seems to be working normally again. I guess I have to treat my vehicle like I do my desktop computer. Power it right down periodically. Thanks for all your help. Summer Solstice
bramfrank
Sounds like you need a battery. They usually have a 5 year service life and, when they get weak you start having issues. 2late4u
Penny
I recently started having this issue with the interior lights staying on and getting brighter when I brake. First thing I should do is disconnect the battery?
KV1
Yes. Disconnect the battery for a half hour. That solves the problem for me. Good luck.
alongforthejourney
Interior lights coming on when braking just started this evening. I wish that disconnecting the battery would solve the problem but I am not willing to have my 2018 v6 crossroads towed to the dealership and that is exactly what would happen if I disconnect the battery with out some sort of back up charge maintaining a constant charge for the computer controls. I found out the hard way about plugging a battery into the OBD port with a used but charged battery. It doesn't require a full charge but a constant charge or the programing gets lost and reprogramming is needed after the new battery is installed. Unfortunately I am on the vehicles 3rd battery for other reasons but you may want to double check to see if you have the programable key less starting system and how important the backup power might be, unless you don't mind having the dealer or lock smith reprogram your car.
