JustDodge
So I have a 2017 Journey SXT 3.6 and the a/c blows warm room temp air. I tried to get it recharged and they told me that it uses a specific piece which they didn’t have because Journeys have the R-1234yf and not R-1234a like other vehicles. I’d have to pay hundreds at the Dodge dealer. What piece is it that they could be talking about?
2late4u
Have no idea,,,sounds like you need to find a different AC repair shop I hope you found the leak or whatever was your problem before getting more refrigerant put in Edited May 26, 2022 by 2late4u jkeaton
jkeaton
Who's "they"? Why didn't you ask them what piece they were talking about? Check the sticker under the hood to find out what type of refrigerant it takes.

Check the sticker under the hood to find out what type of refrigerant it takes. A bit late to this but it takes 1234yf. Assuming the part they “don’t have” is some type of proper connection to the refrigerant hose. I’ve been to stored to try and recharge myself but all the cans of or never had 1234yf only a or nothing regards to 1234yf Freon in general.
