jaymclure Posted May 26, 2022 Report Share Posted May 26, 2022 What is the hose with the clamp on it that isn't connected to anything that is below the firewall near the drive shaft? It's leaking coolant. It has a clamp on it but isn't connected to anything. Am I missing a line that it should be connected to? There are 2 lines underneath it wrapped in heat shielding. Are these AC or coolant lines? I can't tell if they are leaking at the joints. I loose coolant fast when driving but barely any when parked and idling. DWTX Posted May 4 Report Share Posted May 4 Bought a 2017 Journey and this always is leaking in my garage for about 20-30 minutes after I drive it. I am not running the A/C or heater- just fan...as far as I can tell the A/C has not clicked on and my dash lights for A/C are off. Same as this picture above and not an answer on here? I think the clamp is there to prevent it from being inside the car, so it will drain outside. It is not windshield washer or radiator fluids. They both are Blue and yellow, respectively, and this liquid is always clear without smell. Meaning it has to be a drain but is weird that it drains that much and not running compressor. Locosiete Posted May 4 Report Share Posted May 4 (edited) As mentioned above it's the ac drain. By default the ac will engage on defrost settings to ensure the AC stays lubricanted. James c Posted July 12 Report Share Posted July 12 Seen the same thing on my 2015 dodge journey. I figured that's what it was. I have a different issue! I have an aluminum line with a hole on it that leaked out all of my anti-freeze. It runs from the front of the vehicle all the way to the back on the passenger side. Not sure if it is a return line. Took it to a dealership and they are saying it's going to be $1300 to fix it. Was wondering if anyone else had this problem I've not seen any videos that could help me out with my problem. Removed the damaged leaking section of aluminum coolant line, cut it out with a plumbing tube cutter tool, will leave nice clean non jagged ends. Buy a 3-4 foot section of rubber heater core line that is big enough to fit over an ends of the aluminum line. Probably around 1/2 inside diameter. Add gear camps on the section that slides over the aluminum. Several tywraps so new hose is well supported. Top up and bleed glycol system of trapped air from plastic bleeder screw in plastic thermostat outlet on engine if 3.6 engine.
