Philroy
My in-laws own a 2019 Journey with the 2.4 engine. It has just shy of 6000 miles on it. Yesterday I drove them to Omaha and back from Des Moines. It was 90 degrees out. I started scrolling through the display and was alarmed to see the engine oil temp at 222 degrees?! The water temp was 195 degrees and the transmission temp was around 170 degrees. I was on interstate 80 with the cruise set at 73mph. I scrolled back to mph and then back to oil temp about 6 min later and the oil was now at 230 degrees!! I left it on that screen until we got to Omaha and it stayed between 226 - 230 degrees all the way out. I checked the oil after it had cooled down for and hour and the oil level was fine, and was very clear. On the way home last night the oil temp stayed around 222 degrees. Has anyone experienced this? This oil temp seems way too high. My Jeep Cherokee and Grand Cherokee will have almost identical oil and water temperatures.
