mossback49
Have had a ton of issues with my car. Cooling system, over heating, sensors going out. Took care of much of this and decided, whether correctly or not, to clean the connectors including the PCMs. Doing so I neglected to pay attention to the battery and it's low now undergoing trickle charging. In the mean time, I get a blinking red security light and no start condition. The music screen tells me to leave in "run" (push button start) and wait for the vin to be verified! Do I need to have the battery charged up before I do this? How long does it take the vin to be verified? Gotta take my wife to the doc in the am, this isn't turning out good. 5rebel9
I'm not that familiar with the security light situation as to exact "reset" process. BUT if battery is very low on charge AND it tells you to leave the key in the RUN position, it will quickly drain out the charge in the battery and fail to complete the verification that the message said. You've got to make sure of good clean connection s at the battery and get a good charge into it FIRST. Also which motor under the hood, helpful for members to know. mossback49
1st problem solved. It was the battery. 2nd. problem, I didn't have one of the connectors to the pcm down tight like it should be. Engine fired right up. Now the major issue that got much of this started I'll post on engine forum. 5rebel9
