StephyU
Hi I have a 2013 Dodge Journey. I went to the car today and I had the door opened for a bit while I looked at something and the interior lights started blinking (car not on). Then I was attempting to connect the Homelink to the garage door. I held down the 2 outside buttons for 20 seconds and nothing happened. Then I pressed the start button and the dash flashed a message that the car wasn’t in park (it was). I then tried pressing the brake and pushing the start button and it started clicking and then completely died. All lights off, key fobs not working nothing. I’m not sure what to do. Any ideas? I am panicking that I wrecked the car.
5rebel9
I take it that you RECENTLY purchased this Journey in "used condition"? Probably a dying battery that needs recharge for things to function. BUT if you know for sure the AGE in years of the battery, and more than 4 years old REPLACE IT and CLEAN and dielectric grease the coneections to the battery. 2late4u
StephyU
I purchased it used about a year ago. Is it common for the key fobs not to work at all (lock or unlock) in the case of a battery dying?

You posted of a lenghty time of having interior lights and such on, a sure fire clue of a weak main car battery.
