agm2112
My journey sometimes "clunks" when changing from second to third gear, normally when not pressing the gas too much. I have replaced the transmission fluid (twice - Valvoline ATF+4), added some Lubegard, but nothing helped. It has 150.000km (~94k miles). It is not getting worse (or i´m just getting used to it). Can it just be some sludge on the valve body that worth's manual cleaning ? I can reproduce it: hit the gas slightly (5-10%), first, second ... when it would change to third, I release the gas, wait two seconds .... CLUNK ! Thanks. Personally, I would start with a very good inspection of the motor/trans mounts. Not knowing your vehicles particulars without going back into your posting history, the front and rear motor mounts take a lot of abuse from engine rock on and off the gas and during shifting. They are also known to be on the "weak" side for longevity. and can cause a clunk sound when worn. 2late4u
14WhiteRTRallye
Mine does it too. 3.6 awd. Usually happens driving through the parking lot at work. Doesn't happen every time though. Sometimes I will put it in manual 2nd to avoid the annoying and embarrassing clunk. It really only needs 2nd at the speed it clunks into 3rd. I can feel the exact moment that the clunk will happen, normally on parking lots or heavy traffic, on 2nd gear. With cold transmission is even worse. And it does not happen every day. A transmisison overhaul here in Brazil has an absurd price, so I´m probably doing it myself by cleaning and checking the valvebody first. Actually the clunk is very rare now, maybe because of the two fluid changes I did. I´m very confident that this is caused by sludge somewhere inside. In my case is still not the time to dismantle the transmission. 2late4u
Vanius
Hi amg. We took the chance of bringing a Mopar master kit (US$500) and a Transgo shift improvement kit (US$70) from abroad and we serviced the transmission. The only apparent issue we found was few aluminum debris from slightly worn low cluch drum grooves so we applied the proper update with the parts we purchased. Next week the transmission will be in the car and I'll post the news. Edited May 11 by Vanius 2late4u

Kulstad
I am having the same issue on my 2014 DJ RT. Bought it from a used car lot with 238,000 km on it. Just like @agm2112, I always know when the "clunk" is going to hit. Has anyone figured out how to fix this?

If this happened several times a day, I would take some more drastic action, but since it’s not very common, I’ve actually gotten used to it. I'm just worried that if it's a $500 fix right now, and I don't do anything about it, it'll turn into a $4000 new transmission when I least expect it. I have a 2014 crossroad with 164 k on it I haven't had the clunking noise for a long long time,of course I have had the trans fluid changed 2 times as well, but it did have the clunk noise the first yr or 2 every so often tho but if you have 238 k on it good luck Edited September 27 by 2late4u
Mavigraph
I too have the same clunk in stop and go driving, usually. Applied LubeGard Platinum, over the course of a few thousand miles issue is more muted and not as sharp nor is it as frequent. Still going to keep driving and ignoring until the end. At this point I feel it is what it is, but I don't believe it's going to kill my tranny. I'm still hoping and praying you'll find the solution, just don't forget us. Please post when you do!
