Canada_Jay
I think this problem will cant be fixed. please read the link http://njection.com/blogs/autopark/archive...ual-clutch.aspx But it says... "In its first Chrysler LLC vehicle applications, the new dual-clutch transmission will debut in international markets on the all-new 2008 Dodge Journey when mated to the turbo diesel variant." We have Gas engines. Are you sure this is the crap tranny that we all have?
JourneyMan71
The dealer I go to said it will take some break in time from the transmission to shift better. Who knows, but there could be software updates someday also if the breakin does not work.

sdeveau
I distinctly remember one instance when I was merging onto the highway, doing about 60km/h trying to accelerate to 100km/h. The gear didn't want to change, just high revs and no speed, I let off the gas and the revs wouldn't drop, like it was stuck. I decided to touch the breaks and try again; it was only a light tap on the break, barely enough to really slow the vehicle. When I did this, the gear it was in released and the revs dropped. I only had that problem once, and the engine was still fairly new, maybe 5,000kms on it, I chaulked it up to the engine not being broken in yet. My husband didn't seem too concerned about it hasn't happened again. It does still "hunt" for the right gear every now and then. It seems like there is a "sweet" spot in the transmission, and if you don't press the gas at the right time, it has trouble figuring out what it's supposed to do. miller7428
Anyone hear if there is a firmware or software update for the Tranny yet?
Canada_Jay
I just had mine in last Thursday..They did flash the PCM with some new code and .....from what I can tell so far..... The shifting is much smoother and there is no delay between 2nd and 3rd.
amholley
so far I dont have that problem, but the only thing annoys me is when I driving 55 -65 freeway with slight uphill the rpm will go down and when I press the accelerator slowly it wont respond but when pushed a bit more it will only down shift. I think the torque converter won hold the load at low rpm? do you guys notice this?thanks the thing is on this vehicle it is an electronic gas pedal. so the computer is actually in control of throttle setting. it says you can get what you want by downshifting instead of supplying more gas.. i think a software upgrade to the fuel management system is needed... i got the same thing going on my 2010 journey
