gmoney1996
I got a 2010 Dodge Journey with the 3.5L V6. It currently has 177k miles. My question is, can you tell when the timing belt is failing? Are there any warning signs? I’m unsure if the belt has been replaced before. But there’s been a weird noise when accelerating and it’s coming from the side where timing belt is. It still drives and accelerates just fine. I’d just hate to go spend the money to have the timing belt replaced and come to find out it never needed one. Thanks for any information!! larryl
Better to replace the belt than the engine...If it breaks the engine is toast John/Horace and 2late4u
2late4u
better to pay a little now than have to pay a lot later,,,BUT you will pay when it breaks
jkeaton
I believe the belt has a 100k mile replacement recommendation in the maintenance section of the manual. As stated, better to replace a belt than an engine. John/Horace
