DocDaniels
Hello dear Dodge community, I apologize in advance for my English, I'm from Germany and my English is not perfect. My wife and I both drive Dodges, I drive a 2019 Durango, my wife just won't part with her 2009 Journey R/T with just under 80,000 miles the Journey has never really caused any trouble either, a very good car despite the small 2.4 liter engine. However, now I have a problem that I can't solve. When you open the driver's door, the interior light no longer comes on. With all other doors, or using the remote control, it works, only the contact on the driver's door seems to have a fault. And there is the problem, where the heck do I find this door contact, there has to be a switch somewhere and what spare part do I need to replace it??? Hopefully you can help me, unfortunately Dodge workshops are rare in Germany, so I have to do it myself Thanks Dan from GoG
5rebel9
That light function is incorporated into the door latch assembly, not a separate switch. I would start by checking for a broken wire in the rubber boot between the door and the main body of the car. DocDaniels
Thank you very much, I already suspected something like that, I'll measure the cables and the contacts, maybe I'll find the problem there
