uConnect and multiple phone paring

Recommended Posts

uConnect says you can connect up to 7 phones to it. I have two, a personal and a work cell. Both are pared and assigned priority levels. However....if both are in the vehicle (which they usually always are) the level 2 priority phone (work) is never connected unless I push it to # 1. Seems to me that if I connect 7 phones and all of them are present and assigned descending priorities then all should be recognized when present..correct? I understand the directions to state that the highest priority phone takes precedence on incoming and outgoing calls. Is this a fault or I am doing something wrong here. I pride myself is being somewhat fluent in technogeezer stuff and this one is stumping me. Any help will be appreciated.

You can only connect one phone at a time to the MYGIG. This is pretty standard among bluetooth devices. The system allows you "store connections" of 7 different handsets, not connect 7 handsets. In other words it will remember 7 cellphones and connect to them when they come into range. Again only one can be connected at a time, hence the need for priority levels. Thats why of your two phones it only connects to the one set to level 1. To test this, have both on with bluetooth enabled, #1 should connect, then turn #1 off, #2 should connect

Hope this helps

I left both phones on with the priority one phone active. I 'asked' uConnect to select phones and switched to my work phone and it worked OK. It temporarily overrides the priority one phone. Still it would be nice to have both active and able to connect but what can you do?

I'm having issues with my phone dropping out while connected to the Uconnect. Anyone else seeing this? I'll be connected and everything will be fine, if I receI hive or make a call while connected I get about two minutes of conversation before the Uconnect drops out and then my phone isn't able to find service for about 20-30 minutes....I would say this is a phone issue except that I only have this problem with my phone while connected to Uconnect in the car.
