jaymista
I came across this review of the 2010 Dodge Journey. It pretty well applies to the '09 too. I find a lot of writers who review the Journey tend to be negative but not this guy. If you own a Journey, it is like getting a pep talk from a coach on why you made a good decision to buy it. warbird24
Since Ordering ours, I have talked with every Journey owner I can, stopped to talk or tracked them down and asked them some difficult questions. Most would buy again, all are happy with their purchase and only a few have little problems with very minor things. Looking over the needs we had for a vehicle, it suits our purposes quite well. It's good to see someone in the Automotive press being positive on this Journey for a change instead of tied to who is paying for their advertisement budget in the magazine. jaymista
I have had the same experience. The Journey owners I have talked too all have been generally positive about the vehicle.

I just drove my 2010 Journey SXT home. It has 74 miles on it. At 50 miles, driving from the dealership, while applying the brakes gently on the expressway, the front end starting shaking and the steering wheel started shaking back and forth. I could not believe it. It wasn't too bad but when my dear wife got home (I bought this for her) she took me out to dinner down the road about 12 miles. While applying the brakes two and three times each, the steering wheel was shaking and you could feel the vibration coming through the floorboard. It was terrible and it keeps getting worse. So I Googled 2010 Dodge Journey Brake Problems and WOW. HUNDREDS AND HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS. I only wish I had read these before I purchased the vehicle. I CALLED THE DEALER AND AM RETURNING THE VEHICLE TOMORROW, TUESDAY June 22, 2010 and getting our 2008 Jeep Commander back. This is the absolute worse vehicle I have ever owned. I have purchased over 20 vehicles in my lifetime and am a retiree from Chrysler. I feel very ashamed that Chrysler Engineering would let this Vendor, who ever they are sell them these junk Rotors and brake pads. The front end of this vehicle is Junk and I believe people should seriously consider not buying this. The Vendor should be sued. I don't care who calls , this is exactly what happened. RebelThunder
lemon laws. I'm suprised I have not experienced any brake/rotor/calipers problems like the ones I've read from the other owners.

Ron (734) 790-1319 Woah! Double hate post. I have 0 brake problems with mine, sounds like you got a lemon. It happens. Just get the dealer to fix it! :P As for the review, I read LOTS of good ones! Thats why I bought one! Heard there may be reliability issues, which is why I got the extended warranty.

miller7428
I have had my 2009 SXT AWD for a year now and i am not very happy with this vehicle at all and am upside down in it or it would be gone. I have had numerous issues with mine but not the brake issue yet and i have went over a few passes but my issues are when comin to a stop after driving I get a nasty melting plastic/burning fluid smell and then smoke will come out from the hood, this has been happening for 8 months now and I have had it into the shop 3 times now for it and they say they cant find anything wrong with it. I also had to go through the honk\grind steering to left issue and had my resevoir replaced and now for the last 4 months my engine knocks really bad even after oil changes. Overall I am very dissatisfied with my Journey and it only has 18,000 miles on it and I will never own one again. With all the issues I am putting together enough people to start a lawsuit against Chrysler for so many issues with this vehicle and go from there.....if anyone feels they want to be involved in this lawsuit please email me @ miller7428@gmail.com. I live in Seattle Washington in the US.... I just drove my 2010 Journey SXT home. It has 74 miles on it.
