burnhard22
2 months old-bad seal near tranny spitting oil burning off into cabin-corrected under warranty. 2 months old gas pedal broke off from a dead start at a light while trying to pass gravel truck.-could have been killed if it was on a Highway but corrected under warranty and got a free soccer ball....... No joke...who make a car with a plastic gas pedal....I guess that's what happens when you try to save $ and out source vehicle production South of the border... castanier
I just got the same problem! I bought my brand new Dodge Journey 2,4 SXT in december 2011; 3 weeks ago, the gas pedal broke off on the highway when I was trying to pass another car. I brought it righ away to a Dodge dealer nearby and after looking at the pedal in my hand, he said that this was not a warranty problem and that probably my kids (11, 8 and 3 years old) were playing with my car... The spare part is not in Argentina and they don't expect it to be before 60 or 90 days at least and my car is only 7 months old with 26.000 kms! I sent a complain to Dodge in Argentina, I had to return my car to the same dealer and after a couple of days they returned back to me yesterday night saying that the dealer could assure that it was not a material failure! They also cannot tell me when this part will be available in my country... Here , this car cost about USD 40K and this is the best answer I can get? This is not so much a question of how much this repair cost but I feel so much ripped off when I'm being told that it is not their problem if the gas pedal breaks off on a new car!!!! Anybody has some tips to give me so I can make a specific claim to Dodge in the US or how I should proceed? Thanks in advance...
