wi11iam
Hi there, As of yesterday, the centre console of my 2009 Dodge Journey 2.0 R/T is dead - I.e. it doesn't switch on. I have tried the obvious of just switching off and restarting, to no avail. Curisouly though, I can also hear a constant "whirring" sound from inside the column - almost as if the little computer itself is switched on and the hard drive is running, but nothing displays on the screen. My naive opinion is that the little computer has somehow got "suck" and hung/frozen, and because the battery is still providing power, it doesn't get a chance to reboot and clear itself. I'm planing to disconnect one of the battery terminals in the hopes that the little computer would eventuallu be able to switch off, and then boot from scratch, and hopefully resolve the issue. Thing is, I'd like some opinions on this first... Regards William R.
wi11iam
Hi there, OK, so my logic was sound - when the battery no longer provides power to the vehicle, the onboard computer was able to reboot and then all was fine. Only trouble was that I didn't have the time (or expertise) to uncover the battery in the left wheel well and disconnect the terminals, so within 3-4 days the battery actually discharged and died, thus effecting the reboot I needed A quick jump-start and zip around the block later charged the battery and I'm now back on the road, with Music, Navigation and Reaer-View camera - life is good!!! Cheers W
