Teddys friend
I have an iPod Classic which I bought for use with my 2008 Dodge Caliber. I plugged it into the 12 volt outlet and the AUX jack and it works fine. On my 2010 Dodge Journey it is another story. When plugged into any 12 volt outlet and when the engine is running there is a very load hum from the speakers. When running it with the ignition in ACC there is no hum. If I use an AC adapter and plug it into the 115V AC outlet it works OK with the engine running. My dealer told me that they tried my iPod in other Journey's and they were the same. They suggested that I run the iPod without connecting to the car's 12 volt battery. I did some checking and found that if I turned the ignition to ON - and did not start the car - the hum was only there for the 10 seconds it ran the diagnostics. After that it was gone.
