BigReubs
2012 dodge journey AWD 3.6L with 62TE transmission The sound only happens when accelerating and stops immediately after I let off the gas. Breaks were done recently and after disassembling they all appear to be in good condition. I accelerated in a circle going both left and right to try to identify if it was a CV axle and it didn’t make the noise. Can anyone help me identify the noise? tsteves5
I haven't heard that particular noise before. But I have heard some other strange noises when accelerating only if the motor mounts are damaged. I would suggest checking to see how much the engine moves around. 2late4u
John/Horace
The heat shields underneath are cheaply made and the fasteners fail. Need some large fender washers and self tapping screws. The awd driveshaft has several of these shields.
Mil T
check your motor mounts. Bad ones will let your motor torque and they will rub metal to metal. It mostly happens when you torque the egine like when you accelerate. I had to change mine. It's amazing how bad they were. Can't believe the motor stayed in the car.
