meinya13
I HAVE A 2012 DODGE JOURNEY R/T AND THE VISCOUS DRIVE SEAL WENT AND LEFT THE DIFF DRY TO THE POINT IT NEEDS REPLACING. HAS ANYONE FOUND THE BEARINGS AND THE RACE FOR THE CARRIER TO REBUILD IT. JEFFENDER ON THIS FORUM FOUND THE BEARING NUMBER FROM SKF: BT1-0384/Q. I FOUND THE BEARING ON KOYO'S SITE FOR $21.55 A PIECE. NOW I NEED TO TRY AND FIND THE RACE FOR THIS DIFFERENTIAL. THIS DEFINITELY WOULD SAVE AROUND $900.00 TO REBUILD IT INSTEAD OF BUYING A USED UNIT. ANY HELP MUCH APPRETIATED. John/Horace
Taper bearings are usually sold as a set with a race, I believe. People often pick up a good used unit from LKQ etc. The vc coupling are a wear item, if car high milage I would just get a whole diff unit. Side seals on diff also wear out, hard to change in place pulling drive shafts.
