Al_Bundy
New member here, hoping for help. 2018 Journey , 130k miles. I have a possible TIPM or ground issue, but before I start throwing money and parts at it I'm hoping to get some help. I attached a picture of the codes I pulled tonight. Multiple body codes, all of which are related to an open circuit somewhere. The issues started about six months ago. They are all electrical and are: 1. Interior lights stay on when headlights are on. If headlights are off, they stay off. The bulbs dim if all bulbs are in place. Lights also turn on when in reverse 2. No right rear reverse light 3. No tag lights 4. ABS light (this came on about two months ago) 5. While sitting in car with it completely off, the dash lights will illuminate as if I'm pressing the brake pedal ready to start the car. This happens with or without the key fob in the car but is erratic. I have my PA inspection coming up next month and know that this will fail the test. I pulled the TIPM out, tested relays and fuses, and put it back in. Cleaned and put dielectric grease on all connections prior to putting it back in. I checked the wire bundles and they all look good, from what I can see. I have checked all the visible and easily accessible grounds and did not see any issues. Full disclosure, I did drive for approx 100 yards with the tailgate pen about a month before this started. My first inclination was that I popped out a connector or wire in the door but didn't see anything. Im hoping for some help as I really am not looking forward to spending a day pulling out all the panels, seats etc to get to all the grounds and wires I need to access to check. Any advice to where I can start checking? Anyone have access to common ground locations? Not gonna lie, I wish I could just say its the TIPM and get a rebuilt one to replace it. Any help is appreciated. Thanks
2late4u
did you check the wiring real good at the upper hatch in the rubber boot that wiring is really easy to break or short out there,,,,just a thought......Welcome to the group
Al_Bundy
There was a busted wire and that fixed the exterior light issues but it still has the interior issues. And now windows will randomly roll down. pretty sure it is the tipm since there are random electrical problems that dont seem to be related. I am going to check the grounds and then do a reset to see if that fixes it.
Rina5677
@AL BUNDY did you do the reset? What is the procedure to do one?
