jayden
My 2018 dodge journey won't start, it has power but won't start. I was trying to add some freon in my ac and I kept my door open with the window down so I can just feel if the ac was getting cold. I shut the car off and after that it wouldn't start again. Did me going in and out of the window with the door open put me in some sort of safe mode? I looked up everything I could on it and I tried everyone's recommendation. My gas pedal is really hard now too. It's like it just disabled the ignition. If it isn't the computer system it must be mechanical. But it has power to everything, the starter is good, fuses aren't blown. New positive cable and a battery that read 12 volts. I don't know where to go with this. 2late4u
try disconnecting the battery cables at the upper jump connection and let the car sit for 15 minutes then reconnect the battery cables and hopefully the reset will help, and no there is no safe mode
5rebel9
I was going to say cranks over on starter but no engine run....did you run it out of gas???? Never heard of the gas pedal being suddenly hard to depress. But the BRAKE pedal can show that symptom.

Yes I meant my brake pedal, the starter does NOT crank, I had it tested and it tested good though. It is not out if gas.

I had it disconnected for a couple days while I had the starter out even and it did nothing. 2late4u

Need some time to search this one out to reply further. Is the red dot anti theft warning light on or flashing when you try and start it? Any interior power {lights , radio} working? Which engine size and is your A/C R134a or the NEW STUFF? Edited April 30 by 5rebel9
2late4u
I would have to think he disconnected something by accident and does not realize it as his journey was working okay before trying to add the freon, and could be due to an anti theft system if so equipped,,,,,,,,,hope he responds back on his solution after he finds out the problem larryl
Dean H
2016 DJ 3.6 engine 62te automatic transmission Starting with a\c freon. On the underside of the hood, find this label it has the freon type your system uses. I have a 2016. It uses the. R1234yf freon. If you didn't use this type of freon. I would start there. I don't know the differences. But there is some. Edited April 30 by Dean H
