P06DD 2017 Dodge Journey Crossroad

Recommended Posts

In March got the P06DD code. Took it to shop, replaced oil housing suspected leak,  code came back within driving 15 miles.  Replaced sensor and performed oil change.  Code came back.  Took it to another shop,  changed oil pressure sending unit again. Code came back within a day.  Had an tune up done. Code came back, took it to another shop.  Said nope take it to the dealer this is a dodge v6 3.6 ltr issue. Dealer had it for 3 weeks,  3 camshafts and rocker and later and a total of 6k in three months and code came back within 48 hours. Dodge Cares well not take any accountability. Dealer wants me to bring it back to them tomorrow charging me for a rental car while they work on it again, though they had it 21 days up to last Friday.  Beyond frustrated and frankly broke from paying all of this for repairs that didn't need to happen with no one taking any accountability.

P06DD-DUAL STAGE OIL PUMP STUCK LOW

I am reading from the Mopar 2016 Dodge Journey service CD.

The oil pump runs in 2 modes controlled by the PCM.

Low pressure is Idle speed to around 3000 rpm.

High pressure mode comes on between 3000 to 4000 engine rpms.

Code P066DD dual stage oil pump stuck low (mode).

I am posting photos of the Dodge diagnostic trouble-shooting chart. For this code.

Note photos on the next post.

Based on your information and what the Service CD states. You need a new engine oil pump.
