Patoriku
2010 Dodge - Journey SXT - 3.5L, V6, 260.000 km I'm happy to ETRANSFER some money if we find the culprit! Main problem: Speedometer doesn't work when driving * it's reading more less correctly first 3~5 mins after starting, goes to 0 mph after * it's moving on an instrument cluster check * it's moving randomly after the engine starts and sometimes in high speeds * it's moving a little bit when the car is revving (looks like the car has these "fluctuations") * also many icons on my cluster don't work (see pic down) I've tried: 1. Changing Vehicle speed sensor (VSS) - didn't fix, back old one 2. Changing Front left Wheel Sensor - didn't fix, back old one >> Each shop basically tried one of each sensors, didn't help, sent me home. Notes: - car is shifting fine - battery voltage seems fine at 14V, also AC on 30 mV - this problem started to appear after a bad battery had to be jump-started many times (brand new battery now) - car seldomly shuts down in low speed (like 1st gear) after driving in highway speeds - got these codes from stores: U1417 Implausible Left Wheel Distance Signal Received P0501 Vehicle Speed Sensor 1 Performance *Plus my reader*: U1412: Implausible Vehicle Speed Signal Received Thank you brothers for any ideas, I'm desperate. Dean H
First thing. You need to find a shop or someone with a scan tool. That has the capabilities to read modules and can activate and test individual components. Simple code readers are basically a digital reference. John/Horace
Use Waze or a gps for speedo until you figure it out. Fairly accurate. Look for wire harness damage, critters could have chewed a connection. It’s a lot of codes at once.
