Transmission stuck in 3rd, line pressure high

Help! I recently bought a 2012 Dodge Journey. When purchased was told it was stuck in 1st gear and not shifting up. Bought super cheap so was still worth it to try and fix. Was throwing P1745 code. All info we read was to replace line pressure solenoid. We replaced what was needed along with filter and oil. Only the oil in the pan. Was advised not to completely empty and clean. Still didn’t work. Was then advised by shop that it wasn’t stuck in 1st but is in 3rd since that is the limp mode for a 62te transmission and that the soft solenoid needed to be replaced next. Replaced the shift solenoid. Still not working or communicating with the TCM. Now it is throwing 2 codes, still the P1745 and P0934. When connected to the obd reader it connects to engine but says unable to connect to TCM. We have checked to TCM per other comments to make sure no corrosion and all wires are clean and connected. Was told it hear 1 and 2 could be bad but it’s not shifting to 4 or 5 or anything over 3 either so I’m not convinced that’s it either. I don’t know what else to check.

so many questions still unanswered to be repaired over the internet,,, miles on the journey?  who is actually doing the work and who is telling you what to replace? sounds like you need a competent transmission shop to fix the trans or maybe  it might just be cheaper to find a rebuilt trans or used one to replace it? good luck on what you find to be the problem and please report back on your fix

There is 134,000 miles on the journey, I am using a shop for the replacements, both things I have replaced honestly came from suggestions from online or forums that had encountered the same P codes and it resolved the issue. I took it to an actual transmission shop and they recommend possibly having it “reset” but the shop they recommended for that only does it for licensed shops. I honestly was coming here in hopes someone had had the same issue or experienced it before.

you wont like my suggestion but takinging to the dealership would be the most expensive but they would probably know how to diagnose the problem and might be cheaper in the long run, had a different problem with my daughters patriot every shop ( 3 ) was saying and pointing to it being the rear axle trans case going bad and it ended up taking it to the dodge dealership and it ended up being a rear wheel bearing for a total cost of $450 compared to a $2500 rear axle repair...good luck

I've not PERSONALLY had to diagnose/repair such a problem as this, BUT my shop owner friend had a same type problem that did. He showed me  his "in process" work and also what he found when I visited with him. Turned out to be a broken wire in the harness between the TCM and transmission. It was in a wire harness that went clear around the engine bay, but the break was located like 2' from the TCM. He spliced a new wire from the TCM side break to the corresponding connector at the transmission. 

Point being said.... NEVER rule out wiring just because connectors look good.
