Gieleigh
I have a 2015 Dodge journey and lately I have noticed that I’m using more gas than normal. Sometimes when I started, it sounds rough, it doesn’t do it all the time also it hesitates accelerating at times. Today my car temperature gauge went up to the hot mark. I have one person tell me it’s the fuel injector and the other one told me it’s a blown head gasket. Anyone have any ideas?
John/Horace
Welcome to the forum. Which engine, milage on car, any major work done on car. Could be a lot of different things. What does glycol look like. Is radiator fan coming on when it’s hot, is a/c being used at the time. Careful when engine goes to hot easy to damage aluminum engine. Put down windows run interior heat to help lower temp. Was a pressure test done on cooling system? larryl
Gieleigh
2.4 engine. 87,000 miles I had problems with the check engine and throttle light on. They changed the throttle body and the same lights came back on again P2135 and P0221 so they changed the accelerator pedal couple weeks later the same codes back on again so about a month ago they changed the PCM. I just got my car back from them 2 weeks ago. I had a misfire in cylinder three, had that replaced. Now I noticed that if I drive for a certain distance, the temperature gauge goes over halfway it doesn’t go to the H mark but 3/4 of the way. I know I had a lot of work done and put a lot of money into it, some people tell me to get rid of it but that’s just it. I have put so much money into it. Dean H
When you replace the gas pedal (APPS). There is scan tool relearn function required to be done. When you change the throttle body. There is a scan tool function ETC relearn required to be done. Ask the shop who did the work, if they did these relearn functions. Specifically, regarding the misfire what did they replace?
